Reviews - coming soon!
The Empire
Mercenary Crossbowmen - very simple, these men shoot crossbow bolts into enemy regiments. Crossbow bolts are stronger than arrows and thus penetrate armor better. They also have a greater range than arrows due to there power.
Imperial Bowmen - these men have the same purpose as the crossbowmen, except they shoot arrows, which are less armor piercing than crossbows.
Wood Elf Archers - these men are the elite bowmen of the elven society. They are more skilled than the normal bowmen and crossbowmen making them more likely to hit, and tend to have a better range. These elves like all the others are also not hindered by the terrain and can thus move quicker.
Imperial Cannon - a very powerful war
machine which fires through enemy regiments killing almost
anything it hits. It has a very long range and is better for
enemy regiments with many ranks as oppose to fewer ranks.
Note: The cannon will hit anything directly in front of it.
Imperial Mortar - this deadly war machine fires explosive bombs. It has a shorter range than the cannon and fires in an upward angle over regiments directly in front of it contrary to the cannon.
Bright Wizard - this wizard uses the power of fire to attack and defend. This unit is progressively more powerful the higher the level it is at; it obtains more spells and can hold more spells in one battle.
Ice Mage - this mage, as the name implies, uses ice magic to attack and defend. This unit also is progressively more powerful the higher the level it is at.
Imperial Halberdiers - these men use powerful halberds to strike at their enemies. Halberds are heavy weapons that must be carried with 2 hands and thus make it difficult for the Halberdiers to fight in certain situations.
Flagellants - these men have gone crazy and attack furiously at the enemy. They will not run from combat and they will not wear any armor. They use the flail as there weapon striking harder and stronger than usual.
Ogres - this is one of the 2 non-human units in the Empire army. They are large strong creatures which hit with great force. They are ugly enough to cause fear in the enemy; a factor which may cause the enemy to run. It is also a rather small unit, but well worth holding onto.
Mercenary Swordsmen - these are the elite troops of the Empire army. They are very skilled and are the basic troops in almost any Empire army.
Imperial Greatswords - these men are much like the mercenary swordsmen only they use a larger sword. Greatswords, similar to halberds, are heavy weapons that also strike harder, but make it more difficult for them to fight.
Mercenary Cavalry - these are some of the best troops in the Empire army. Mounted, they move much faster then regular troops and are not challenged by terrain.
Pistoliers - pistoliers are similar to the cavalry only they aren't as skilled in combat and use pistols. The pistols they use have a short range, but bypass most armor. The closer the enemy, the better the bullets penetrate.
Knights of the Realm - basically the same as the cavalry only they have a different name and are from a different place. The only difference is the knights of the realm have less initiative.
Dwarf Warriors - these men are shorter, stronger, and slower than normal men.
Wood Elf Glade Guards - these men are quicker than normal men and faster. Terrain does not slow them down as much. The Glade guards are also more skilled with there weapon.
Treeman - the treeman is very strong and tough, but they do not wear armor. It can take hits without being damaged much better than other units can. The treeman causes fear in enemy regiments making them more likely to run.

Editors:
WHDOMAXX 2.0 - this is the greatest save-game editor I have ever seen!! It edits statistics, unit size, experience, and money. We do not take any credit for this program. Disk 1. Disk 2.
Dark Omen Money Trainer - this program is a simple program which gives you the maximum amount of money you can have. We do not take any credit for this program.
Additional Files:
These files are upgrades to the unit files providing additional units not usually available in the Multi-player mode. The files are for The Empire, The Orcs, and The Undead armies. These files go into the Dark Omen/GameData/2parm directory and replace the *.aud files. Make backups before using these files; we are not responsible for anything that happens to your game, nor are any of the organizations mentioned in the legal information.
The Blip Technique - if your
wizard (or other magic unit) has the teleport spell, than you can
use this technique to destroy the enemy. Make sure you have
enough magic power to teleport twice and cast a spell of your
choice. Teleport behind the enemy regiments; cast the spell from
behind (they won't be able to see you from the back); then
immediately teleport out.
Note: this can threaten your unit's life if they have the Banner
of Wrath or the Orcs Mork banner. It could also be pointless for
a specific unit of theirs if they have the Banner of Arcane
Warding or the Spelleater Shield.
The Heart of Woe - if you purchase this magical item, put it in an artillery unit, and place the unit away from the rest of your units. You could lure the enemy into attacking that isolated unit and then they could get hit with the Heart of Woe. You could also place it in a sacrificial unit (usually the Flagellants) and have them tie up their most valuable unit. If you have an artillery unit, fire straight into the fight with the flagellants.
Shield of Ptolos - equip this into a sacrificial unit (flagellants again) and send them into melee. Use artillery to fire into that battle. Usually you'll end up killing a lot more of them than you, and since flagellants are cheap it really doesn't matter.
* More strategies will be coming soon. If you have any of your own, e-mail them to us using the guestbook using the strategies option.
